Does this come in anyother colors?

Hi! My name is Maggie, and I'm 25.

I am a lover of many things which include, but are not limited to:
Chilled white wine
The colors Pink, Gray, and Navy
Furry animals
Nail polish
Large stud earrings

As you're reading this, you're probably thinking that I seem like your average mid-twenties girl, attempting to blog, with typical, pinterest-like taste. However, there is something slightly different about me at this point of my life.

At this very moment I am sitting in a Middle-eastern desert, in a foliage green, digital screen printed uniform with no monogram, no glitter, just two names-- "Gregg" and "US Army."

Do I have your attention now?

I made an uncharacteristic decision at the ripe young age of 19 to join my college's ROTC program, and, a few short years later, this is where I have found myself. In the desert.

As you can imagine, wearing an Army uniform, complete with my hair in a slick, tight bun and knee-high green wool socks everyday, is not how a preppy, girly-girl wants to spend her days, but its part of the package, so I've accepted it (after first asking if this uniform comes in different colors-- I've never though of green as my color)

So since I can't wear/eat/do/smell/feel/taste/ect. something, I will blog about it! This blog will cover just about any top you can imagine, and then some. Whatever we're thinking on any given day!

Now you might be wondering who the "we" is.

Meet Holly.

We've been called a lot of things here. "partners in crime," "musketeers," "Battle Buddies," and pretty much every other thing you can thing. Holly is my roommate, and the only other female lieutenant here with me on this deployment. We sleep in the same room, and our offices are across from each other. Needless to say we spend a lot of time together. But I'll let here introduce herself in another post.

I've thought a lot about why I decided to start this blog. For one, Holly and I have been talking about it since we found out we'd be rooming together on this deployment- we picked the name together and everything. Also, I figured it might be a way for people back home to connect with what I'm doing here and vice versa. But ultimately I think it will become something for us to look back on once we're back home: a journal without being a journal. This might be the first of many posts, or this might be the one and only-- time will tell.

So off we go!
